On a couple of projects this year for organisations that were highly orientated towards paper, changes in work place practices with a combined EDRMS and lateral filing solution were introduced.
This saw a massive reduction of paper based files and then the files that remained benefited from the space savings both horizontally and vertically in the storage cabinets.
There was also a need to retain lever arch filing for a part of the organisation until further work practices could be changed in the next 12-24 months.
To deliver a large amount of hard copy file reduction that was necessary a combination of a number of solutions were implemented and then parts of the short term hybrid solution could then be continually explored over time for further space savings.
This approach basically future proofed the new workspace with further reductions equally or being more than the expected growth over the next few years.
